- Over the five years from 2009-10 to 2014-15, percentage increases in public four-year in-state tuition and fees ranged from 0% beyond inflation in Maine and 3% in Montana to 46% in Georgia and 54% in Louisiana. In both Georgia and Louisiana, tuition and fees remain below the national average.
- Over the five years from 2009-10 to 2014-15, percentage changes in public two-year in-district tuition and fees ranged from declines of 3% in constant dollars in Maine and 2% in Montana and North Dakota to increases of 58% in California, which still has the lowest price in the country, and 62% in Louisiana.
