The annual increase in inflation-adjusted average published tuition and fees at public two-year colleges declined from 10.2% in 2009‑10 to 5.3% in 2010‑11 and 4.7% in 2011‑12, and was 4.3% in 2012‑13.
In both the public four-year and the private nonprofit four-year sectors, the largest one-year percentage increase in the constant dollar published price for tuition, fees, room and board over the decade from 2002-03 to 2012-13 was in 2009-10.
